Model History :
The Twenty was one of the most successful models by RR in the
immediate period after the first world war and also a car which was very
successful in India. In fact, of the 2940 units built in its production
life space from 1922-29, almost 200 plus such cars came to India. This
was a smaller, less expensive car made by RR to complement the Silver
Ghost. Construction was simple to help keep costs in check, a single
ignition was employed and the three-speed gearbox had a central change
but the standards of worksmanship weren't compromised. At introduction
this car cost the grand sum of eleven hundred pounds sterling!
Provenance :
This car was a basket case in the truest sense of the term and Fali
restored it to fully operational and original state that it is in today.
Fali took great car to ensure that as many original parts from this
Barker barrel bodied car were reconditioned and fitted. This car was
used in the Rally of the Raj and it performed with aplomb on this
grueling classic car event.
