Noble M600 Carbon Supercar | Latest Carbon Supercar

Noble M600 Carbon Supercar

Noble M600 Carbon Supercar

Noble M600 Carbon Supercar
Noble is not in my top 5 supercar’s producers, but with this new model, called M600 Carbon it could make me change my opinion.

We all know that Noble is British company that it’s trying for a long time to beat other supercars, as: Bugatti Veyron, Audi R8 and others. And I have to say that Noble M600 Carbon has 650 hp and weighs only 1.22 kg, so more power and less weight than Bugatti.

Noble M600 Carbon is all made of carbon fiber materials, has ceramic brakes and 6 speeds manual gearbox. As a bonus, at the interior the car has a special button copied from Tornado airplanes, a button that disengages the traction control systems.

Fast as a rocket, beautiful design, low weight… perfect ingredients for a supercar.

Lotus Elise Purist Edition Released

Rumors have been circulating for almost a week that Lotus was planning to release a stripped-down, low-cost version of the Elise in the States. Today, we finally received confirmation from Lotus' U.S. PR-man, Kevin Smith, that indeed, the Elise "Purist" edition is on the way, and unlike the dozens of other limited-edition Elises coming out of Hethel, this is one we can actually get behind.

According to Smith, the "Purist" edition is an attempt to get the Elise closer to the MSRP it carried when introduced to the U.S. market in 2005. So Lotus has set the price at a slightly more achievable $43,995, or around $3,500 less than a base Elise.

However, the "Purist" is hardly a stripper model. Only available in Ardent Red, Monaco White and Saffron Yellow, the entry-level Lotus is still packing the 190-hp, Toyota-source 2ZZ 1.8-liter four and six-speed manual transmission, along with Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs, AP-developed calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled discs, silver wheels sized 16x5.5 in front and 17x7.5 in the rear, each shod in Yokohama Neova high-performance rubber (175/55 front, 225/45 rear). Black leather seats join a Momo steering wheel, power doors locks, air-conditioning, a four-speaker stereo with in-dash CD player, tire-pressure monitoring system and an alarm with engine immobilizer. The only option available is the Starshield coating for $995. Neither the Sport or Touring pack will be offered and we're okay with that – it's near perfection already.

Hindustan Motors Ambassador Review

Hindustan Motors Ambassador ReviewThe Hindustan Motors Ambassador is probably the most historic car in India’s history. Since as early as 1948, it has been produced in India. The Ambassador, as it is known, boasts of its distinctive Indian features although it has been modified with the British influence. Furthermore, the Ambassador has been considered as the “King of the Indian Roads”, a label that it has proudly stood up to until this time. This is because it continues to the most well-known car in India, being the most appropriate vehicle in India’s terrain.

Engine

The Hindustan Motors Ambassador has threae options for its engine among its variants. These are: the four-cylinder engine which powers up to 52 PS, 4200 rpm and ran with 106 Nm, 2200rpm torque which are featured in the Ambassador Grand 2000 DSZ and Classic 2000 DSZ AC PS among others, the four-cylinder OHC powered by 75 PS, 5000 rpm and 130 Nm, 3000 rpm torque used by the Classic 1800 ISZ, and its MPFI PS version among others, and the last engine type is the diesel engine generating a power of 56 PS, 4000 rpm and 112 Nm, 2500 rpm torque used by the Avigo 2000 DSZ Ambassador.

Built and Styling

The Ambassador is built in a way that it can satisfy and even exceed the expectations of its customer. It is equipped with several customer-friendly features. One is the wide leg room where passengers can move freely even with luggage inside the car. Another is the wise arrangement of seats so the interior of the car becomes spacious. It is also power steering and with a multi point fuel injection. It can also be easily repaired if ever there are problems because the mechanics are very simple, but this does not change the fact that its mileage is great. It is a hatchback in the recent times that pictures out the elegance of the old times. The air conditioning system of the Ambassador works pretty well in the Indian climate and suited in the temperature of its interior with leather seats.

Safety

The popular Ambassador comes with a brand of safety. It has shock absorbers in the form of torsion bar springs that can assist in strong impacts on the road. It also has a secured rear wheels which can assist in sudden brakes. Furthermore, it has semi-elliptical leaf springs which has shock absorbers in the rear end, serves best the kind of terrain that India has. Overall, the Ambassador has been trusted over time because it never failed the safety and security needs of its customers off road.

Variants and Colors

There are eleven variants available for the Hindustan Motors Ambassador. They are the Grand 2000 DSZ, Grand 2000 DSZ PW CL, Classic 1800 ISZ CNG, Classic 1800 ISZ, Classic 1800 ISZ MPFI PS, Avigo 2000 DSZ, Avigo 1800 ISZ MPFI, Grand 1800 ISZ MPFI, Grand 1800 ISZ MPFI PW CL, Classic 2000 DSZ AC PS and Grand 1800 ISZ CNG. They also come in various colors such as shades of green like Kilder and Forest, shades of white like Francoise and Crystal, and many others.

Have a look at Nissan Sunny Diesel and Skoda Rapid

Nissan Sunny Diesel and Skoda Rapid Have a look at Nissan Sunny Diesel and Skoda RapidPriced a bit on the high side, the diesel variant of the model Nissan Sunny becomes at par with that of the successful vehicle in the segment by Skoda, the Rapid. We shall have a look to see, if the addition of the diesel engine makes the price worth for the latest Nissan vehicle.
Even if a big car with 2600mm wheelbase, the Sunny is said to be of 108kg lesser weight when compared to the Skoda Rapid. It also features 490 litre boot, a huge bumper and thin tyres.
In the meantime, the Skoda Rapid can boast of a big grille, a chrome strip and big headlights, thus giving the vehicle some personality. The car also has modified the bootlids, taillights as well as the bumper at the back.
Even when, it comes to the interiors of the vehicles, that of Nissan Sunny is almost the same for both the petrol and diesel variant, similar to that of the Nissan Micra, except for the music system and central air-con vents.
Loaded with a dashboard same as in Micra, the vehicle also has some buttons and interior plastics, even if not of good quality like that found in Rapid. It also supports beige colour headlights and user-friendly large controls to activate the AC. Having the driving position a little raised, it provides for good visibility. Grey colour dash is also featured.
Now, if we look at the interiors of a Skoda Rapid, it is same in design as that found inside the Volkswagen Vento. Superior to that of the Sunny, it provides a rich and luxurious experience. Other features offered include the low-rent surfaces for the trim on the door as well as the lower dash.
When it comes to the driving position, this Saloon offers comfortable steering, seating, pedals, gear levers and so on. The seat at the front also provides good support and firmness to the thigh. The seats at the back even if comfortable have an upright back rest.
Sunny also supports features such as controls mounted on the steering, climate control and automatic folding mirrors, which are not seen in a Rapid. However, the Rapid supports clever lever positioned behind the passenger seat, at the front, thus permitting the passenger in the back seat to adjust the front seat forward, if preferred.
The engine seen on the Sunny is the same as in Micra, the 1461cc common rail motor, however delivering better power at 84bhp and maximum 20.39kgm torque. The vehicle is expected to ride smoothly across highways, even if beyond 3800rpm, the engine may not perform that well.
It is expected to cross 100kph in 12.89 seconds. Skoda Rapid meanwhile is said to be faster by 1.4seconds. Skoda features a 1.6 litre diesel engine is big and gives better performance than that of Sunny.
Suspensions are the same in both the vehicles, which are the independent suspension at the front and non-independent for the back. When driving at low speed, the Sunny does not give smooth ride, even if it becomes better with speed. It also gives good and safe handling, thus becoming the stress free vehicle to ride through the busy roads.
Rapid, however has extended wheelbase and plaint suspension. It also provides a decent ride at less speed. The light steering it offers is said to be very clear-cut and direct. However, there is no fun in driving the vehicle and it offers very less torque steer.
Finally, we have come to a conclusion, driving these vehicles has its own unique experience. The Nissan Sunny is very easy to drive and also is loaded with standard features and a 1.5 litre engine.
The Rapid, nevertheless, thus not come equipped with the features and is of solid build, with generous seats and is very classy in appearance.

India's Best Performance Purebred upto 250cc

There is nothing quite like the Pulsar 220 DTSi currently in the Indian market barring the Yamaha YZF-R15, which has already scared the masses with its hefty price-tag and not-so-city friendly riding posture.

Bajaj Pulsar 220F DTSi

With 21PS of power, a 220cc motor, unbeaten top-speed and a pricetag of Rs. 70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) - it's a no brainer why the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi wins over its competition. A lot was said when Bajaj Auto reverted to the conventional carburetor for the new Pulsar 220 DTSi over the more advanced fuel injection system that featured on the previous model, the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. But by offering a well-tuned carburetor (and biggest one seen on any of the current Indian bikes) to suit the 220cc engine's characteristics, Bajaj Auto has silenced its critics as not only is the new Pulsar 220 DTSi quicker, revvier and faster, it is also a lot more reliable and efficient than its fuel-injected sibling.

Although the 152kg of mass of the biggest Pulsar is a bit of a bummer, weight distribution is spot-on and none of its heavyweight character reflects while astride the bike. The bike tips into corners effortlessly and springs right back up with equal ease. Even when maxed out in top gear the bike feels planted and sure-footed taking the road undulations and bumps in its stride. There is nothing quite like the Pulsar 220 DTSi currently in the Indian market barring the Yamaha YZF-R15, which has already scared the masses with its hefty price-tag and not-so-city friendly riding posture.

On the contrary, available at a significant price deficit, the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi is a highly versatile motorcycle with multiple applications like an everyday motorcycle to commute to work and back, a potent and comfortable long-distance tourer, a great tool for weekend sport riding in the twisties and last but not the least, a stunter’s delight! With such impressive versatility at an incredible price-point, it is a no-brainer why the Bajaj. Pulsar 220 DTSi is our best choice in this class.

Quick Facts:
Engine: 220cc Air-cooled Single
Power: 21.04PS@ 8,500rpm
Torque: 19.12Nm @ 7,000rpm
Transmission: 5-speed manual

DIMENSIONS
Wheelbase: 1350mm
LxWxH: 2035 x 750 x 1165mm
Weight: 150kg
Performance
0-60 km/h: 3.8seconds
Top speed: 138.5km/h
Fuel efficiency (overall): 44.8kmpl

Variants
Pulsar 220 DTSi (Ex-showroom, New Delhi): 70,000 lakh

Cheers:
1. Well-sorted out front-end with oodles of planted feel
2. Fabulous grip from the soft-compound tyres
3. Grunt yet refined power delivery

Sneers:
1. The rear view mirrors need an immediate re-design for real-world use
2. The main-stand is a severe hindrance, especially during cornering

1st Runner Up

Yamaha YZF-R15
Race-track scorcher with high-end technology and exceptionally good handling, the Yamaha YZF-R15 made every other Indian manufacturer sit up and take notice. There is still no other true-blue performance motorcycle like the YZF-R15 in the country, but its premium pricetag has placed it beyond the reach of many Indian bikers. But if you have a lakh of rupees to blow, do it on the One-Five with your eyes shut!

Other Rivals
Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi
Now this one’s for the hooligans! Trash those plastic panels, the fairings and keep it real. A stunter’s favourite set of wheels, the Pulsar 220 DTSi in its street-fighter avatar is raw and angry. Sharing the under-pinnings with its faired sibling, this one does not have a similar top-speed but due to the lack of weight, it surely is the quickest Indian motorcycle of today.

Hero Honda Karizma
The preferred choice of sport tourers in India, the Hero Honda Karizma has been around for a long time and in all these years its following and fans have definitely aged if not grown and well, so has the bike. That said, it is still one of the best motorcycles to have in your garage, especially if you like fast-paced touring.

Hero Honda Karizma-ZMR
The first real upgrade to the Karizma, the ZMR is a very quick and refined motorcycle. Apart from getting upgrades like fuel-injection and rear disc brakes, the ZMR is also more comfortable and planted than the Karizma. The full-fairing is a little too gaudy for our taste but it definitely makes heads turn on the streets. Although, the 160kg of mass means hauling this beast around tight corners requires some efforts which is not all that fun.

India's Best Cruiser

Truly affordable cruiser in India, the Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi packs in good power and comfort for a great price benefit.

The fact that there is very little to choose from if you want to buy a good cruiser motorcycle in India, has only helped the Bajaj Avenger's case. Currently, apart from the Royal Enfield Thunderbird there is no real competitor to the Avenger in the market. While the Thunderbird has its own breed of Royal Enfield patrons, the stylish yet practical charm of the Avenger explains why despite onslaughts from other bike-makers over the years, it still remains a hot-favourite set of wheels amongst the Indian cruiser-fans.

But not the one to rest on it laurels, Bajaj Auto has been constantly upgrading the Avenger along with its Pulsar brand. In its latest avatar, the new Avenger gets the bigger 220 DTSi heart from the Pulsar 220 and it works wonders to more grunt to this cruiser. Highway bouts on the new improved Avenger are now more thrilling and exciting and so is covering distances. In the new bike, the motor has been slightly detuned and it has been configured to suit the Avenger’s cruiser characteristics. As a result of which, the torque comes from low-down the rev-range and the bike pulls right from 30km/h even when slotted in fifth gear. The chassis and suspension parts remain the same as seen on its predecessor albeit with minor changes to compliment the larger engine. The suspension is definitely more pliant at tackling bumps and other road undulations when compared to its predecessor, and the bike also feels more planted when tackling fast twisty corners. The Avenger effortlessly tips into fast corners and holds onto the desired line without any drama.

All this and more at a phenomenal price advantage minus any real competition means that the Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi is truly a superb value-for-money buy that will satisfy the Indian cruiser-lovers as well as those who want a stylish low-rider.

Quick Facts
Engine: 219cc Air-cooled Single
Power: 19.03PS@ 8,400rpm
Torque: 17.5Nm @ 7,000rpm
Transmission: 5-speed manual
DIMENSIONS
Wheelbase: 1,475mm
LxWxH: 2,195 x 750 x 1,070mm
Weight: 154.5kg
Performance
0-100 km/h: 15.8seconds
Top speed: 121.6km/h
Fuel efficiency (overall): 47.2kmpl

Variants
Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi (Ex-showroom, New Delhi): ` 69,930

Cheers:
1. Very grunty and punchy motor ideal for highway hauling
2. The Avenger always had fantastic ergonomics and it remains unchanged

Sneers:
1. The Avenger 220 needs a bigger fuel tank for a good tank-range
2. The pillion ride quality is on the stiffer side and can be painful over long duration on our roads

1st Runner Up

Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark
Royal Enfield's departure from tradition towards better bikes continues with the Thunderbird Twinspark. Starting with the Twinspark moniker, the new engine now features two spark plugs in the head for more efficient burning of fuel in the large combustion chamber. A unit-construction engine, with the gearbox integrated into the crankcase, akin to most modern motorcycles.
Also, new hydraulic tappets mean no pushrod adjustments and more precise valve timings. A new clutch results in a claimed 25 percent reduction in clutch effort, and a redesigned oil pump gives twice the oil flow as compared to the earlier spindle-type pump, again helping the bike run more efficiently.
When one is carrying a six-decade load of tradition, bringing about change may seem somewhat daunting. Royal Enfield, however, has never seemed more serious about the task. It first set the ball rolling with the plenty fast Machismo 500LB last year, and now gives reliable power to the 350cc fans with the Twinspark. Unfortunately for purists of the Brit-bike era, the younger, fresher market has numbers on its side -and RE is doing well to buy them over with launches like the Twinspark.

India's Best Import Superbike

Honda's latest tech-laden VFR1200F opens up a new avenue that promises to make motorcycling safer without making it dull and boring.

Smooth, sweet and sensual is how the V4 burble of the new Honda VFR1200 sounds at idle. According to Honda, this is just the beginning of an all-new V4 dynasty that will expand in the coming years. Honda's DCT system is the world's first fully automatic motorcycle dual-clutch transmission built for large-displacement sport bikes. While the technology has been around for quite sometime on sportscars, it has now successfully filtered down to motorcycles with Honda's latest innovation.

The DCT-equipped VFR1200F is available as an option and it comes without the shift or clutch levers. Honda's DCT mechanism features two auto modes - D-mode (Drive) and the S-mode (Sport). The D-Mode is a fully automatic system while the Sport mode offers further two settings. In the Sport AT-Mode, the DCT will shift gears just short of the redline when the throttle is pinned to stop, while in the Sport-MT, the rider can initiate the shifts with the paddle-shifters on the left-hand side of the handlebar. The new Honda VFR1200F does the job of delivering power in a friendlier and accessible manner, exceedingly well. The powerplant can deliver superbike-like performance yet posses the capability for relaxed long distance touring as well as play the role of your daily commuter with equal efficiency. In the Candy Prominence Red paint scheme, the VFR1200F looks very elegant and while some might find the large fairing slightly bland for their taste, in flesh the VFR1200F looks stunning as the contours highlight all the aerodynamic curves designed to shield the rider from wind-blasts.

Quick Facts
Engine: 1,237cc Liquid cooled V4
Power: 172PS@ 10,000rpm
Torque: 129Nm @ 7,250rpm
Transmission: 6-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)

DIMENSIONS
Wheelbase: 1,545 mm
LxWxH: 2250 x 755 x 1220 mm
Weight: 267kg
Performance
0-100 km/h: NA
Top speed: NA
0-400 metres: NA

Variants
VFR1200F (Ex-showroom, New Delhi): 17.50 lakh

Cheers:
1. The Dual Clutch Transmission opens up a new comfort zone for the enthusiasts
2. The VFR has excellent handling dynamics mixed with a very torquey V4 motor

Sneers:
1. The 267kg weight of the bike makes it difficult to handle in tight parking spots
2. With just 18.5 litres of fuel tank capacity, one has to take frequent stops for refueling

1st Runner Up

Honda CB1000R
Certainly the most practical and sensible choice of wheels to choose from the Indian superbike bazaar that is ideal for our road conditions without compromising on the fun- factor. Extremely comfy riding posture, cushy saddle, flat bars and a very potent 1000cc powerplant, the CB1000R is everything for everyone. The styling on this bloke makes it a complete head-turner while the solid grunt from the motor means one doesn’t have to keep dancing on the gear lever.

India's Best Scooters

Ever since the Honda Activa landed on Indian shores a decade ago, it has been a runaway success, outselling all other non-geared scooters in the country.

Ask any two-wheeler owner which scooter to buy, and almost 4 times out of 5, you'll hear ' Honda Activa' as the answer. Ever since the Honda Activa landed on Indian shores a decade ago, it has been a runaway success, outselling all other non-geared scooters in the country and has practically become part of the urban landscape. The Activa is the scooter of choice for any urban dweller who needs a practical and efficient means of transport through busy streets. Even on the styling front, while it doens’t break any new grounds in terms of design, the Activa is such that it has almost an universal appeal.

Women or men, young or old, the unoffensive styling of the bike is pleasing to all. Last year Honda finally released an upgraded version of this old workhorse last year. The main change in the bike was and upgraded 110cc engine and also the ditching of the old design in favour of a newer one. Honda has introduced some subtle changes in the Activa's shape even after which it still remains instantly recognizable as an Activa, makes it look much better than it did before, thereby giving a new lease of life to an aging design. One new aspect on the new Activa which seems to have taken inspiration from Honda’s larger international bikes is the introduction of the CBS, or Combined Braking System, which engages both front and rear brakes even if one of the levers is pulled, greatly increasing safety in a panic braking situation. Ride quality does tend to be slightly on the bumpier side, but the overall neutral handling of the bike makes the riding experience approachable to every sort of rider, sex no bar, age no bar and skill nor bar.

Highly practical, easy-to-ride, a poster child for Honda's reliability and quite a looker now too; all this even earned the Activa the coveted ZigWheels Scooter of the Year 2009 award.

Quick Facts
Engine: Single cylinder, air-cooled
Displacement: 109cc
Power: 8.1PS @ 7,500rpm
Torque: 8.8Nm @ 5,500rpm
Transmission: Variomatic

DIMENSIONS
Wheelbase: 1238mm
LxWxH: 1761 x 710 x 1147mm
Weight: 110kg
Performance
0-60 km/h: 10.3seconds
Top speed: 89.23km/h
Fuel efficiency (overall): 42.15 kmpl

Variants
Honda Activa DLX:  42,610 (ex-showroom Delhi)

Cheers:
1. Extremely refined engine makes for a smooth commute and is highly reliable too
2. Among the best headlights this segment makes riding at night a breeze

Sneers:
1. Ride quality is a tad too bouncy over bumps and undulations
2. As with most Honda bikes, the Activa has an overly long waiting period

1st Runner Up

Suzuki Access
One of the most favourite scooters of us ZigWheels staffers, the Access makes up for any of its minor flaws by dishing out fantastic performance. The 125cc mill has enough grunt to even give some motorcycles a run for their money. One thing that really works against the Access is the huge waiting period one must endure to get their hands on one of these.

2nd runner up
TVS Wego
The Wego is quite a departure from the Scooty for TVS and it's a really brilliant scooter. Armed with a peppy 110cc 4-stroke engine with a responsive variomatic transmission and telescopic forks at the front, the Wego is an absolute joy to ride. It doesn't skimp on any practical aspects either, offering a large boot, comfortable seats and decent fuel mileage.

Other Rivals
Hero Honda Pleasure
A practical and good looking scooter from Hero Honda the Pleasure does score high marks in reliability, but the company’s efforts to market the scooter to women only really does seem to keep men away from buying one.

Honda Aviator
The only scooter which currently offers front disc brakes as an option. Telescopic front forks and high ground clearance is perfect for Indian conditions. Tall seat height and high price does tend to work against it but all-in-all a fairly good product for urban commuters.

Mahindra Duro
A rebadged and tweaked Kinetic Nova with a 125cc SYM engine. The Duro offers good performance, but its plain-Jane looks and overly soft suspension sees it lose a few points against the opposition.

TVS Scooty Streak
This 90cc scooter is among the higher selling scooters in India and is a worthy successor to carry on the Scooty legacy.

TVS Scooty Teenz
Targeted at women, this 60cc 2-stroke scooter comes in 99 colours
