Audi has announced the launch of the face lifted Audi A4. The A4 with its newly acquired appeal reaches out to a younger and much wider customer base. Priced from Rs 27.33 lakh onwards (ex-showroom Maharashtra for 1.8 TFSI petrol base model), the A4 will now be Rs 70000 cheaper than it predecessor.
“The new Audi A4 with its progressive design, efficient driving dynamics and class defining interiors will take the driving experience to a new paradigm for all our customers. The young and sleek looks will appeal to the younger generation who have arrived in life and are looking to affirm their status and positions among their peers. The engines with their superior technology will give better fuel efficiencies while the new and improved lines and interiors will certainly turn heads and add to the comfort and luxury that one expects from Audi. The outstanding sales performance in the first quarter of 2012 of its predecessor encouraged us to pre-pone the launch of the new Audi A4”, said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.
The A4 will be available in three engine options – 1.8 TFSI petrol (priced at Rs 27.33 lakh), 2.0 TDI (priced at Rs 29.38 lakh) and 3.0 TDI quattro variant (priced at Rs 38 lakh). All engines are turbocharged direct-injection systems; the recuperation system is standard throughout and the start-stop system is standard in petrol variants.
The fuel efficiency on an average has improved by 10 per cent on the face lifted A4. The 1.8 TFSI offers a fuel efficiency of 15.64 km/l (ARAI) – fuel efficiency has improved by 25 per cent compared to its predecessor, while the 2.0 TDI offers an efficiency of 16.55 km/l (ARAI).
The A4 is the first Audi which offers the fully integrated Audi Car Life product, which combines financing, service plan, insurance and extended warranty.
The A4 competes with the Mercedes C Class and BMW 3 Series and it is one of Audi's highest selling products having sold more than 10 million vehicles since 1972. It has a long and successful history in the Audi fold.
