The German Automotive Manufacturer, BMW launches its cost effective and classy SUV, the BMW X1 sDrive 18i in India. Creating a niche for itself, the model comes at a much lesser price.
BMW X1 is assembled as a completely knocked down unit (CKD) at its production facility, based in Chennai. BMW X1 sDrive 20d, the diesel variant and the high end BMW X1 sDrive 20d exclusive are the other versions offered.
The car is made available in both diesel and petrol engines of Corporate Edition, Highline and Cool Elegance versions.
Fitted with 1.8L, 1955cc petrol engines, the variant generates 150Bhp maximum power. 200Nm at 3600rpm is the utmost torque delivered.
Top speed offered by the car is 200kmph, while it also produces acceleration (0-100kmph) of 10.4 seconds.
8.5kmpl is the mileage that it covers in a city, while the highway mileage offered is 11.2kmpl.
6 speed automatic gearbox can be seen on the vehicle. Complying with BS1V norm, the model holds a fuel tank with 55litre capacity.
The petrol engine featured also contains 4 cylinders having 4 valves. Electronic power steering is another feature that it supports.
A 17 inch Alloy Wheels and 225/50 R17 sized tyres are as well featured.
Power windows are located at the front and back of the car, automatic climate control, remote trunk opener, remote fuel lid opener, warning lights indicating that the fuel is low, accessory power outlet, trunk lights, vanity mirror, reading lamp at the back, headrest for the seat at the back, centre arm rest for the rear seat, height adjustable front seat belts, cup holders at the front and rear, A/C vents at the rear, heated seats at the front and rear, seat lumbar support, multi function steering wheel, cruise control, parking sensors and so on are features offered that can account for the comfort and safety of the passengers.
The model though it cannot seat 3 persons that comfortably at the rear in comparison to the other BMW models, still offer features such as Air Conditioner/ Heater, Adjustable Steering column, Tachometer, Electronic Trip Meter, Fabric Upholstery, Leather steering wheel, glove compartment and more.
Digital clock, outside temperature display, cigarette lighter and digital odometer provided also add to the convenience of the user.
The car is also loaded with several exterior features like adjustable headlights, fog lights at the front and back to help prevent accidents, power adjustable exterior rear view mirrors, electronic rear view mirrors that can be folded, rear window defogger, rear window wiper and washer, power antenna, tinted glass and so.
Entertainment offered is also the best with featured audio system remote control, speakers at the rear and front, radio and CD/ DVD player.
BMW X1 sDrive car offer Anti-Lock Braking System, Brake Assist, Central Locking, Power Door Locks, Child Safety Locks, Anti-Theft Alarm, Airbags, Day & Night Rear View Mirror, Halogen Headlamps, seat belt warning, warning to indicate door is ajar, side and front impact beams, Traction Control, Adjustable Seats, Keyless Entry , Tyre Pressure Monitor, Vehicle Stability Control System , Engine Immobiliser, Crash Sensor, Engine Check Warning and such as a support to the safety of the passengers.
BMW X1 attracts more users coming in striking colours such as Black Sapphire, Cashmere Silver, Deep Sea Blue, Graphite Blue, Marrakesh Brown, Space Grey, Sparkling Bronze, Tasman, Titanium Silver and Vermillion Red.
