The New C 63 AMG: More powerful than ever

The new 6.3-litre V8 Black Series Coupe is the most powerful C 63 AMG Mercedes has ever made.
The Black Series Coupe boasts of a 6.3-litre V8 powerplant producing a maximum output of 510hp and 620Nm worth of torque. Despite the fact that the car has minimal increase in terms of displacement, 100cc to be precise, there is a considerable change in terms of power and output. Under the hood of the previous generation of C 63 AMG hid a 6.2-litre V8 engine churning power at 600Nm and a maximum output of 457bhp. According to preliminary data, the car is capable of touching 100km/h from rest in 4.2 seconds. The Black Series of the C 63 AMG borrows a lot of its engine components from the SLS AMG.

For a car that is capable of doing lightning speeds the braking has to be equally powerful and the Black Series doesn’t disappoint with its high-compound braking system. The car has a race car like six-piston composite up front whereas four-piston integral discs at the rear.

Apart from being fast, the Black Series is extremely fun to drive, thanks to the AMG’s adjustable coil-over suspension and advancement in standard equipment. The car boasts of sports tyres, active rear-axle transmission cooling and also superb AMG Aerodynamics package which include flics.

The C 63 AMG Black Series is an amazingly well engineered car, with the arrow-like front section which has large openings for air cooling, titanium grey painted light weight alloy wheels, a broad end with a back mesh at the upper end of the diffuser insert all contribute in making the car look, muscular and aggressive.

“AMG has its roots in international motorsport. The new C63 AMG Coupe Black Series showcases the ongoing transfer of technology from the race track to the road,” said Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
