New BMW X5 arrives with more style

BMW India ushers in the new X5 with petrol and diesel variants. The new X5 carries BMW's latest design language and spacious interiors for added comfort and a world class driving experience

BMW’s latest addition to its illustrious portfolio is the updated model of its luxury SUV, the X5. Complete with all the bells and whistles found in modern-day crop of elite automobiles, the X5 exudes class that very few can match up to. Styling on the 2011 BMW X5 is re-worked and in-tune with the company’s newly incorporated design language seen on its upcoming models. The front grille and fog lamp placement has been altered to make the car look elegant and suave while the LED-powered L-shaped rear tail-lights too have been mildly refurbished. According to BMW, the subtle yet defining visual alterations to the X5’s front-end signify power and presence.

Unveiled at the Bird Automotive BMW dealership in Gurgaon, the BMW X5 will be sold as a CBU (Completely Built Units) in India and it will be available in two variants – BMW X5 xDrive50i (petrol) and BMW X5 xDrive30d (diesel). The petrol variant is powered by a massive 4.4 litre V8 motor with Twin-Turbo and Direct Petrol Injection. The petrol engine churns out 407.8PS of horsepower at 5,500rpm and an earth-shattering 600Nm of torque peaking between 1,750-4,500rpm. Under the hood of the diesel BMW X5 xDrive30d is a 3.0 litre all-aluminium six-cylinder engine with Twin-Turbo and Common Rail Direct Injection that produces 245PS at 4,000rpm and 540Nm of torque available between 1,750-3,000rpm. The BMW X5 xDrive50i will set you back by Rs. 69.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while for the BMW X5 xDrive30d you will have to part with Rs. 52.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new BMW X5 can be ordered via BMW dealerships across India and the deliveries for the cars will begin from next month onwards.
