Juiced up version
of the Alto with the K10B engine launched at Rs 3.03 - 3.16 lakh
ex-showroom Delhi. New car prepares to take the game away from the
Chevrolet Spark and the Hyundai Santro
Maruti Suzuki has
launched a new version of its best selling Alto with the K10B engine.
The Alto K10 has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.03 lakh
for the base LXi version and Rs 3.16 for the VXi version. The car will
co-exist with the current 800cc Alto, offering a plusher option with
more punch and better fuel efficiency.
The car will feature the 1-litre K10B engine seen previously on the
Maruti Suzuki A-Star, Estilo and the new WagonR. The engine will not
only make the Alto K10 more powerful than its immediate competition -
which includes the Chevrolet Spark and the Hyundai Santro
- but also offer it a class-beating fuel efficiency figure. The company
is claiming an ARAI approved figure of 20.2 kmpl for the light and
zippy car.
The Alto K10 has also been suitably refreshed on the inside and the
outside to distinguish it from its older sibling, with new headlamps, a
new radiator grille and revised interiors which impart a sense of
modernity to Maruti's reputed people?s carrier.
