Maruti A- Star Lxi is introduced in the hatchback segment by its manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki to compete with the Hyundai i10. Sporting a very trendy appearance, the car is very popular with the young crowd.
Seeing as this environment friendly vehicle is made from the used
parts of other car models, the company names it as “’the end of useful
life”. Known as the ELV vehicles, this car comes under the ‘end of the
life vehicle’ group.
Other variants offered are the Maruti A-Star Lxi Manual Transmission,
A-Star Lxi AT Transmission as well as Maruti A-Star Vxi with Manual and
Automatic transmission.
The model features 1.0 litre, 12 Valve, 998cc displacement petrol
engine and supports a fuel economy of 14 kmpl for the city and 19 kmpl
for highway. The powered engine in KB Series also has 3 cylinders and
MPFi system.
The vehicle can also deliver at the maximum a power of 67 Bhp at the
rate of 6200 rpm. Maximum torque offered is 90 Nm at the rate of 3500
rpm.
The automatic gear variant launched supports about 4 gears to deliver
smooth ride and quality performance. Regular ABS, Power steering and
Driver seat adjustments are other features that it provides.
Front ventilated disc and rear drum type of brakes can be seen along
with MacPherson Strut and Coil Spring type of suspension system on the
hatchback model.
