Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, the market leader in utility vehicles has done it again! Yes, and this time it's the Mahindra Xylo. Known for delivering ultimate consumer satisfaction, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has always endeavored to make cars that are engineered around the customer.
The much-awaited Mahindra Xylo was unveiled very recently at the company's Nashik plant. One look into the car and you know the Mahindra Xylo is here to put sedans under serious threat. Well, indeed the Mahindra Xylo offers the luxury comforts of today's sedans, in more ways than one.
The attributes that would attract anyone to the Mahindra Xylo are its great posture, paint job and body-lines. I specially liked that back that looks good unlike Mahindra Scorpio which seems like a flat bed!
And yes, the pricing is indeed very tempting at 6,24,000/-. I think it is the best deal in market. I know smart people would rather go for a huge Mahindra Xylo (very spacious interiors) rather than buy a smaller Sedan. One more thing that I couldn't help comparing is its comfortable seats unlike the upright and stiff Mahindra Scorpio seats!
And moreover, Mahindra Xylo offers class-defining lavish space all around such that even a 6ft tall person can stretch in comfort on the 3rd row seat, unlike the Toyota Innova.
Ladies like me will specially admire the good collection of electronics and mechanical accessories like foldable food trays, cup and bottle holders in the Mahindra Xylo. The number of storage spaces tactfully located within the cabin just adds to it! After having a look at it I realized what the designers of the car meant when they said that the car was built inside-out.
The wide array of colors is mind-boggling. The Mahindra Xylo comes in Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Mint Green, Lucky Lilac, Gold Shimmer, Toreador Red, Java Brown and Rocky Beige.
The mileage of Mahindra Xylo as the company claims is around 12 kmpl, which is not bad at all.
One of the most revolutionary features of the Mahindra Xylo that I cannot help but mention here is the tech-savvy Digital Drive Assist System (DDAS) which has features such as an onboard computer to calculate mileage and distance permissible etc. The surround cool dual AC system is its other worth mentioning feature.
Overall the Mahindra Xylo is a good car, but whether it can redefine the future of road travel in India like Anand Mahindra, vice chairman and managing director, Mahindra Group said at its launch, is yet to see.
