Hyundai Motor India Ltd. announced the price of its sixth generation
Sonata with the manual transmission variant being priced at Rs 18.53
lakh and the automatic transmission at Rs 20.61 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The Sonata was earlier shown at the 2012 Auto Expo and garnered a lot of interest from the press as also visitors.
Hyundai has chosen to launch the Sonata with a 2.4-litre GDi petrol
engine which produces 201PS of power and is mated to a 6-speed manual or
6-speed automatic transmission. Part of the standard fare includes
front and rear seat ventilation, front seat warmers, Xenon head lamps,
cruise control, paddle shift, 10-way adjustable power seat with lumbar
support and a 4-way power adjustable front co-driver seat. As far as
safety is concerned, Hyundai have kitted it with six airbags, electronic
stability program (ESP) with traction control system (TCS), Anti-lock
Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) along
with a rear view camera.
The new Sonata goes head on against the existing Skoda Superb, Honda
Accord and the new Camry as and when it arrives on our shores.
