The Honda CBR250R hits powerband!

1800 bookings in a month for the Honda CBR250R in India

Within the initial month of the bookings for the Honda CBR250R opening, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has already registered 1800 orders across the country! All the Indian bikers waiting for an affordable sports motorcycle seem to have rushed to the Honda dealerships and why not considering there are no products with such an alluring price point in the 250cc motorcycle segment. The deliveries for the CBR250R will commence from April 2011 onwards and Honda is working hard at expanding its existing dealer network which consists of 790 outlets all over the country.

The CBR250R is an international model that Honda will be selling in Europe, US and several other markets including India as a 250cc motorcycle. It is powered by a single cylinder 249cc liquid-cooled 4-valve DOHC engine that makes 26PS of power and 23Nm of torque which is spread widely through the powerband for easier rideability in town as well as over the open roads. Available with Honda’s patented C-ABS as an option as well as one without it, the two variants will be sold in India via all Honda dealerships. The Honda CBR250R retails at Rs. 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the non-ABS model. This launch will certainly stir up the 250cc market in the country and it will be very interesting to see what sort of strategies the rivals adopt for this segment. Whatever it maybe, its surely working in the favour of the passionate bikers in the country looking for affordable performance motorcycles!
