BMW S1000RR
German giant, BMW will be gracing the Indian shores with its select
range of performance motorcycles sometime in 2011. It will be launching
its flagship, S1000RR superbike as well as its R-series of adventure
bikes to tap into the hugely potent adventure motorcycle market in
India. The company tried its hand in the Indian sphere way back in
mid-90s by partnering Hero Motors, but the joint venture was shelved in
1998 due to lack of demand for premium models back then. The German
bike-maker realises the opportunity presented by the Indian two-wheeler
bazaar today and hence has decided to venture into it with its premium
products.
