The new Renault Pulse, the third car from the French car-maker, and its volume product for the Indian market, was officially launched at the Auto Expo today. The Renault pulse will be available in two variants, with prices starting from Rs 5.77 lakh.
Renault's approach to the competitive hatchback segment will be very different, launching the car only with a diesel engine for now, the popular 1.5 dCi diesel with 64 Ps of power. This is the same engine which powers the diesel Micra as well. Also, Renault wants to push the Pulse upmarket and has chosen to launch the car in only two trim levels with a very high specification grade, intended to appeal to value conscious buyers, who also want a heavy dose of style and are willing to pay for it.
The prices of the two Pulse variants are:
Renault Pulse RxL : Rs 5.77 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi
Renault Pulse RxZ : Rs 6.25 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi
The Pulse goes on sale immediately. Renault also plans to expand aggressively this year, with more than 80 dealers to be added by the end of 2012, taking the total number of Renault dealers to 100 across India by year end.
