Mitsubishi has started the year by launching the new Pajero Sport
and now has topped it with the launch of the Outlander 7-seater. The
new Outlander starts with a price tag of Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-Delhi), which
is approximately Rs 40,000 cheaper than its 5-seater cousin. Powering
it is a 170PS 2.4-litre petrol engine mated to a 6-speed auto
transmission with a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 10.3kmpl.
While Mitsubishi unveiled the global Outlander replacement at the Geneva show, this is not the same model. While the international model had a face similar to the Montero, the Indian model continues with the EVO X face. Apart from the extra row of seats, in the interiors, the SUV comes with the same features as its 5-seater variant. Keyless entry, steering mounted controls, powered driver seat, HID headlamps with AFS are some of the key features. Safety-wise, the new Outlander gets ABS with EBD, twin airbags and a collapsible steering column.
