Carrying on with their initiative for alternate energy technologies,
Mahindra and Mahindra have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
with the state of Victoria. Mahindra also individually signed three MoUs
with the LaTrobe University, Swinburne University and AutoCRC -
Australia's national automotive research body. The aim behind this MoUs
is to have research, supply chain development and manufacturing of clean
technology vehicles done in Victoria.
Mahindra after acquiring a majority stake in Reva in 2010 has been
focussed on alternative energy sources. At the recently concluded Auto
Expo in Delhi, Mahindra had showcased the Reva NXR and
also the Verito electric. Mahindra Reva has entered into the MoU with
AutoCRC to establish an operational framework for an applied research
program. The two-year MoU will facilitate the sharing of relevant
confidential information and enable the two parties to establish
specific project agreements under the applied research program. The MoU
with Swinburne University, which has Australia's largest electric
vehicle research group, will focus on advanced EV technologies.
Collaborative research and development for new energy management
technologies will be the key focus on the MoU with LaTrobe University
