Hyundai launches new i-Gen i20 in India

2012 Hyundaui i-Gen i20 in India
Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the next-generation Hyundai i20. Called the i-Gen i20, the new car is available in 12 variants with prices starting from Rs 4.73 lakh for the base petrol to Rs 7.67 lakh for the top end automatic variant, ex-Delhi. The prices are approximately up by Rs 20,000 than the previous version.
Hyundai has carried over the petrol and diesel motors with some minor changes to the former. The 1.2 Kappa petrol engine now gets dual variable valve timing and makes 84PS of power as opposed to the 80PS from the earlier motor. The diesel variants are powered by the 90PS 1.4 U2 CRDi diesel but Hyundai have reverted to a 6-speed unit instead of the 5-speed one.  The 1.4 Gamma petrol automatic delivers 100PS of power and 136Nm of torque. The exterior changes include a new hexagonal front grille and stylised headlights in line with Hyundai’s ‘fluidic’ design ethos. Featurewise, Hyundai has included automatic headlamps for the higher variants along with rain sensing wipers and reverse camera.
