The BMW X6 has
been enjoying strong demand and by introducing a facelift as well as a
new engine option the German car maker is taking the game up a notch
Ever since its launch the BMW X6
has faced no rival to its unique Sports Activity Coupe appeal. 1,50,000
units of the BMW X6 have been sold worldwide since its launch.
Continuous strong demand for the X6 has given BMW a chance to further
enhance the appeal of the X6 with a facelift. The new facelifted X6
takes its game up a notch with new styling details.
The facelift on the exterior of the car has largely been implemented
on the front and rear section of the car. The fog lamps are now housed
in matt finish surrounds in the upper area of the outer air inlets to
make the car look wider from the front. The air vents get restyled bars
angled in the lower section make the BMW kidney grille stand out just a
little bit more.
The facelifted X6 now gets optional adaptive LED headlamps. The
three-dimensionally shaped luminous rings of the adaptive LED headlamps
are levelled off both at the top and bottom and are overlaid at the
upper edge by an LED-fed accent light. The light sources for low and
high beam light are LED units positioned on a horizontal bar at its
centre, feeding their light into the reflectors in front. The BMW X6 M
will now get LED headlamps as standard.
The rear lights also get an LED treatment in the facelifted BMW X6.
The rear lights are now two LED-fed light banks which create BMW’s
hallmark tail light glow. The lights are horizontally aligned and
stretch far out to the sides emphasising the width of the vehicle.
On the inside the X6 now features the same Nevada leather but this
time in Vermillion Red. The nappa leather option will now also available
in black and Ebony white.
The facelifted X6 will now be available with a new engine option, a
3.0 litre diesel engine which will be part of the diesel BMW M division.
The new engine is an inline six cylinder diesel engine with triple
turbocharging develops 386PS of power.
BMW had earlier announced their plans of introducing an ‘M’ range of
diesel cars and the facelifted X6 with the 3.0 litre diesel engine is a
step in that direction.
