New Model Volkswagen Jetta Price In India | Volkswagen Jetta Review & Images | Volkswagen Jetta Interior

Jetta is a new premium sedan from the German Automobile giants Volkswagen. Volkswagen had already established a mainstream fan base in India with their Skoda division and had niche customers lined up for their racing car specialists Audi when the brand launched their own direct product lineage with Passat in 2007. They also invested multi million dollars into setting up new plants in India, a first for any German auto giant in India. With Jetta, VW seeks to find the same recall value for its brand that its Audi and Skoda divisions find in the country. Let's take a deeper look at Jetta and understand what makes it so special.

Engine
Volkswagen Jetta is available in 2 engine types. The 1.6 L Petrol engine is packed with revolutionary 5 Speed Manual Transmission that delivers an outstanding performance and is very fuel efficient. This 1.6 L engine delivers an impressive Power of 102 PS at 5600 rpm and a Maximum Torque of 148 Nm at 3800 rpm. The second and more awesome option is the new 2.0-litre common-rail engine which replaced the old 1.9-litre Pumpe Düse engine recently. The mean machine puts out 108bhp at 4200rpm while its 250Nm of torque peaks at 1500rpm and stays flat till 4000rpm and the effects of change are evident. The transmission is through a five speed manual gearbox which is sneak and sporty. The mileage is 8.9 / 13.1 km/l (city/highway) for the petrol version and a decent 11.4 / 14 km/l (city/highway) for the diesel. The petrol engine was tuned down for Indian use but still manages to do a 12.2 seconds 0-100 and can attain a max speed of 186 kmph. The diesel engine cuts down to 11.9 seconds for acceleration from 0-100 and can go for a 196 kmph top speed.

Design And Comfort
With a nice sleek body that Jetta looks like a sportier version of the Passat. The front face styling is reminiscent of other VW models such as the Golf and Passat owing to the chrome framed radiator grille with the large VW logo sitting squat in the middle and twin-eyed head lamps. The Jetta also sports LED tail lamps at the rear which adds to its appeal. The multi-spoke 16 inch alloy wheels and dual-tip chrome enhances the car further complimenting the car with a sporty look.

Interiors
The lush interior features a well planned centre console with user-friendly buttons and switches, a typical three spoke steering wheel and large comfortable seats with adequate under thigh support. There is a difference of how the petrol and diesel cars are presented from the interiors, while the interior of the petrol Jetta is a basic two-tone black and grey, the diesel has been blessed with an elegant black and beige combination giving it a richer look. Five adults can enjoy a comfortable travel with ample legroom, knee room and headroom with a lot of neat storage spaces available.

Ride And Handling
The Jetta promises a ride with maximum comfort and minimum bumps. The suspension systems work efficiently to ensure that small bumps never prove too much a nuisance. There are anti-roll bars fitted up front so that the driver can opt for high speed cornering if he knows how to handle them. The handling is exceptionally good and steering is accurate.

Safety
VW never compromises with the safety of its passengers and this is evident in the new Jetta as well. In Comfortline DSG eight airbags are employed in protecting the passengers from the front and the side. There are also features like ABS, ESP and traction control employed to ensure better safety. The anti-rolling bars and a re-enforced structure add to the value even more.

Variants, Price And Color
Jetta is available in two trims; Trendline and Comfortline. All Jetta cars will come with a galvanized body and shades available are; Candy White in solid paint, Shadow Blue and Heaven Blue in metallic hues and a Deep Black hue in pearl effect finish. The prices range from Rs. 13, 08,804 for the 1.6 petrol Trendline to Rs. Rs. 16, 08,700 for the 2.0 TDi Comfortline variant.
