February 11, 2011 - Chevrolet popularly known as Chevy among its customers launched the LPG version of its most popular car Beat, Chevrolet Beat LPG for 4.10 lakhs (Chevrolet Beat LS), Base Model and INR 4.53 lakhs (Chevrolet Beat LPG), Top end variant. Both the prices are exshowroom, Thane. The company also launched its much talked about SMARTECH engine which will power the Chevrolet Beat LPG. The light in weight 1.2 L S-TEC engine offers a mileage of 18.6 kmpl while the Beat LPG would offer its drivers an exceptional mileage of 13.29 kmpl.

General Motors India has launched Chevrolet Beat only with petrol engine option but it is available with three variants. All three variants of Chevrolet Beat are powered by the same capacity engine but they differ in terms luxuries and other features. All three variants of Chevrolet Beat are equipped with the 1.2L, 1199cc, 16Valve DOHC petrol engine that produces 80.5PS of maximum power with 108Nm of maximum torque and delivers excellent engine performance. This higher level of power and torque results excellent acceleration and performance thus the car never vibrates even after 100kmph speed. Apart from the acceleration and performance the Chevrolet Beat mileage is also much better in comparison to other models of this segment. According to the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), the Chevrolet Beat offers mileage 18.6kmpl in standard test conditions

General Motors India has launched Chevrolet Beat with only petrol engine option. All three variants of Chevrolet Beat are equipped with the 1.2L, 1199cc, 16-Valve DOHC, STEC II petrol engine with five speed manual transmission gearbox. This petrol engine with Port Deactivation Technology reduces the noise and enhances the fuel efficiency and enables theChevrolet Beat to offer mileage 14.5kmpl in city and 18.6kmpl on highway.

The new Chevrolet Beat LPG with the new 1.2 L S-TEC or SMARTECH engine offers a mileage of 13.29 kmpl.
